FloodStop electronic water valves comes in six models Most of these can be installed without soldering or need for special pluimbing tools. There's a FloodStop model to deal with each of the main sources of water leakage. Each product has three components:

• A valve that connects to the water supply with the appropriate connection, usually by threaded connectors that fit onto your existing water supply line (for example the water shutoff faucets found under a sink or near the toilet) and automatically shuts off the flow of water when a leak is detected and stays closed until the problem is fixed.

• A sensor placed on the floor to detect water leaks

• A control unit with an alarm that sounds to notify you of a problem.

These FloodStop models include the following features:

—> 2. Controller has “Battery Port” for 4 C size batteries, which will serve as the Primary Power Source if a nearby electrical outlet is not available. When using the AC wall adaptor/transformer the same batteries serve as a backup power source if an electrical power interruption/outage takes place.

Electric power is supplied to the FloodStop by an AC power adaptor (included), or by 4 C-Cell battries. There is no power draw until a leak is detected which means you can rely on the battery power provided you keep the batteries fresh. Buy extra sensors to extend protection to more areas around your FloodStop (see below).
