Sensaphone 400 and Sensaphone 800 (New models!)Sensaphone monitors your home, greenhouse, seasonal property or computer room with built-in sensors for power outages, loud noises and temperature range violations (both freezing and overheating) than can lead to costly freeze damage, spoilage and mold. The built-in noise sensor can warn you if either smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector or burglar alarm siren is triggered. The temperature sensor monitors a range from -20 degrees F to 150 degrees F. These new Sensaphone models include the "Cottagesitter" feature that used to be included in Sensaphone's more expensive models. So, with the addition of a second thermostat or a dual thermostat (not included), you can control your furnace remotely, with the use of a touchtone phone. Here's how it works: Just set a "maintenance" temperature (say, 48 degrees) on one setting and a "comfort" temperature (maybe 70 degrees) on the other. When you phone in, you can easily switch from the maintenance temperature to the comfort temperature, so your home is warm when you arrive. (This feature is also available on the Deluxe Freeze Alarm.) With Sensaphone, you can set the sensitivity or duration of an alarm condition, depending on your needs. Or you can turn them off completely. (For example, you can set the power outage sensor to notify you when power is out for anywhere between 1 and 199 seconds consecutively. Or you can disable power notification completely if outages are a routine event you don't need to be warned about.) With the addition of auxiliary sensors (see below), Sensaphone can detect water leakage/pipe ruptures, break-ins through windows or doors, overheating of your home computer and humidity changes at a remote location. (If you need sensors for a computer or to monitor humidity, please contact us for pricing information.) Sensaphone 400 accommodates up to four external sensors (first sensor is pre wired at factory for temperature sensor). Sensaphone 800 accommodates up to eight external sensors ideal if you want to add multiple sensors to use your Sensaphone as a "silent" burglar alarm with magnetic contacts for doors and windows and pressure sensitive mats. (You can also connect multiple sensors in a series connection to a single terminal of the Sensaphone.) When an alert is triggered, Sensaphone calls up to four (Sensaphone 400) or eight (Sensaphone 800) phone numbers you choose. The alerted person on the other end of the line receives a voice message, describing the status of the power, temperature, backup battery supply and status of each of the sensors. He or she can then listen in to sounds in your home to help determine the problem. (You can also call in and make changes to setting using a PIN number for security.) The backup batteries (6 C alkaline batteries, not included) provide up to 24 hours of power in the event of a power outage. Lithium batteries could last up to five times longer. Installation is simple. Just plug it in to an electrical outlet, connect it to your phone jack and set it up, using easy-to-follow instructions and the integrated keypad. No monthly monitoring fees to pay. If you own seasonal property or operate a greenhouse in cold weather, this is a must-have device to protect your investment. Having a Sensaphone may entitle you to a lower rate on your home owner's insurance. If you need a lower-cost alternative to the Sensaphone models for monitoring just a high or low temperature, try the FreezeAlarm Model FA-I-CCA.) |
