The Water Alarm acts as a first warning of water leaks. Place near pipes, hot water heaters, toilets, dishwashers, washing machines, in basements, or in any area that has the potential for damage caused by moisture. 
Simplicity is the key feature of this item. Insert the battery and set it in the location you want to monitor. It's really that simple! If enough moisture is present to bridge two of the four probes at the base, an audible alarm sounds. To turn it off, just pick it up. The thin wire stainless steel sensors extend about 1/8” below the legs. This is perfect for early detection of water that may appear underneath carpeted areas because, unlike many water detection alarms that rely on surface mounted sensors, the probes on the Water Alarm can be sunk deeper into the carpet.
 The Sump Attachment (sold separatly) shares the simplicity of the Water Alarm. All you need to do is slide the sleeve of two wires onto two of the Water Alarm probes, then devise a way to hang the Sump Attachment probe at the level where you want an alarm to sound. As the name implies, this is perfect for monitoring for sump pump failure, but it can also be used to monitor any water vessel that can be overfilled (hot tubs, aquariums, laundry sinks, drainage pipes, etc.).
